Saltwinds Financial is based in Atlantic Canada with clients from coast to coast. We are a premier financial boutique offering customized financial services for individuals, small business owners, and their employees. Co-principals Percy MacDonald and Cara Boston bring their broad experience, knowledge, and integrity, to help build secure futures.
For individuals, we work with you to develop a sound financial plan that typically focuses on longer-term financial goals. An often overlooked and crucial part of feeling secure is disability and life insurance.
For business owners, we provide knowledgeable advice on additional considerations such as corporate investments and key man and buy/sell insurance.

Helping others is my thing, which is why investment and legacy planning give me the greatest professional satisfaction. Since having the honor of being named an inaugural Globe and Mail Report on Business magazine/SHOOK Research Top Wealth Advisors in Atlantic Canada, I have worked with Cara to broaden our service offering into a broad financial service boutique. Saltwinds Financial is the result.
I have always lived in Atlantic Canada, close enough to the ocean to smell the salt winds. When sailing, charting the best course, anticipating changes, and working as a team, are the elements that win a race. This is the approach I bring to planning. I work with you to create shorter-term plans that feed into a longer-term strategy. I treat clients’ money as if it were mine.

Cara Boston
The starting point for any financial planning discussion is recognizing that each of us has our own hopes and dreams for the future. I work with you to develop a sound financial plan that reflects your circumstances and builds toward your goals. As a creative problem solver with over three decades of work in the financial industry, I find the products and services that are best for you. In an industry where interactions are increasingly handled by computer algorithms, I provide a consistent human touch. As a creative thinker, I tackle thornier problems by thinking about them from new angles to find workable solutions. I love dogs because they remind me to live in the moment. Peace of mind about a secure future allows me that.

It is no secret that the paperwork involved in financial planning can begin to feel like a nuisance. For this, I am a great guide! I offer strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prompt response times. My work experience is well-suited to lead the Saltwinds Financial client service team. I have worked in the insurance industry, served as a Medical Office Assistant, and helped manage finance and administration in several medical clinics and yoga studios. Saltwinds Financial clients consistently appreciate my administrative support.
I too am a small business owner: in 2020, using my Diploma from the Atlantic School of Reflexology, I established Pathway to Relaxation Inc., one of only a handful of Atlantic Canada’s authentic reflexology/reiki practices.
